Kinder Magic, a laboratory kindergarten for children aged 3 to 5, is accepting registrations for the 2022-2023 school year. Families can start planning now to connect their toddlers with a peer group in a “structured, but fun” learning environment in the fall.
The children are largely taught by students in Principles of Education at Hunterdon County Polytech Vocational and Technical School. According to the district, “These high school students bring great energy and enthusiasm to the classroom every day, in addition to carefully planned lessons to promote academic, social, and emotional growth.”
Kinder Magic operates at the Hunterdon County Vocational School District Bartles Campus, 8 Bartles Corner Road in Flemington, from 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from September through May. The cost is $75 per month.
There are usually no more than 10 children in the class at a time, and they are guided and supervised by a certified teacher as well as four or five Polytech student teachers. Children must be completely clean before starting the program.
Natalie Guarino, a teacher at Polytech, has been supervising Kinder Magic since the preschool program started with another teacher about 15 years ago. According to the district, “the program’s longevity is a testament to its success, and Guarino even has a former Polytech student who is now the parent of a Kinder Magic student.”
That parent, Madison Rosa, said there was “no better choice” for her daughter’s preschool.
“I felt more comfortable enrolling her here because I knew she would be well taken care of and learn,” Rosa said.
