Kuehne and Nagel Group Inc., a logistics company based in Switzerland, has opened an office in Detroit which houses the first operational care center and career development program of Kuehne and Nagel Inc ..
Home to 100 employees and located at 150 W. Jefferson Ave., the office offers a two-year career development path that is a deep dive into the realm of international logistics. High school and college graduates who complete the program become eligible to work in any of Kuehne and Nagel’s 1,300 offices around the world.
“Education is in Michigan’s DNA,” says Adam Hollier, Michigan State Senator (D-Detroit). “We congratulate Kuehne and Nagel for launching their training program in Detroit and recognizing that we have an impressive pool of talented young people waiting for great opportunities like this.”
The Operational Care Center is designed to streamline the number of contact points required to import goods from other countries to the 47 branches in the United States.

Detroit is experiencing a major revival and has a large and skilled young population, making it the obvious location to attract and develop the logistics leaders of tomorrow.
