The Children’s Learning Center at Mitchell College recently welcomed Linda Hunter-Williams as its new director. In her role, she will oversee center operations and lead staff in providing a nurturing and safe educational environment for its preschool program.
Experienced as a classroom teacher, early learning program director and community college teacher, Hunter-Williams holds a Masters in Education from Cambridge College.
“I look forward to creating a bond between home and school, ensuring that family members are actively involved in their child’s early educational experience,” the Louisiana resident said in a statement. .
The Mitchell College Children’s Learning Center uses a Reggio Emilia-inspired curriculum approach that makes children partners in the learning process. The center also serves as a laboratory school for Mitchell College students, guiding them to achieve their educational and professional goals through diverse and challenging internships.
Dr. Elizabeth Beaulieu, vice president of academic affairs at Mitchell College, said she expects Hunter-Williams to be a “wonderful advocate” for the needs of children in the program and an inspirational mentor for college students. who study early childhood education.
